The Dubai Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. The official name of the event is Dubai Marathon. About 10,000 athletes take part in the marathon race and other competitions. In 2023, 1,448 runners completed the marathon.

In 2021 and 2022, the Dubai Marathon was not held due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Dubai Marathon is recognized as a World Athletics Gold Label event.

The marathon race, covering a distance of 26.2mi/42.195km, starts at 7:00 on 7 January 2024 (Sunday) from Umm Suqeim Road opposite the Madinat Jumeirah hotel and in the shadow of the iconic Burj Al Arab.

Age limit: at least 18 years old on the race date.

6.2mi/10km Road Race

The 10km race starts at 8:15 on 7 January 2024 (Sunday) from Umm Suqeim Road opposite the Madinat Jumeirah hotel and in the shadow of the iconic Burj Al Arab.

Age limit: at least 15 years old on the race date.

Entry fee: $85.

The 4km fun race starts at 10:30 on 7 January 2024 (Sunday) from Umm Suqeim Road on Al Sufouh opposite the Madinat Jumeirah hotel.

There is no age limit for the race.

The Dubai Marathon 2024 route commences at the Madinat Jumeirah end of Umm Suqeim Road, then veers onto the left side of the carriageway, leading up Al Sufouh. It traverses past Dubai College Junction, the entrance to Palm Islands on the opposite side, and continues past the entrance to Dubai Media City. The route then makes a U-turn at the traffic lights of the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi.

Subsequently, the marathoners return along Al Sufouh, passing by Madinat Jumeirah before reaching Jumeirah Beach Road. Along this stretch, they pass the iconic landmarks of Burj Al Arab and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The runners head towards the new bridge at the Creek and make a U-turn at Al Mehemal junction, just before the bridge. Then, they proceed back to the Madinat Jumeirah junction and repeat this section once more.

Upon completing the second lap of the Jumeirah Beach Road section, the runners turn left after passing Burj Al Arab at the Madinat Jumeirah junction. They continue along Umm Suqeim Road for 500 meters, heading toward the finish line, located just before the Dubai Police Academy.

The starting point for all races of the Dubai Marathon 2024 is on Umm Suqeim Road, situated opposite the Madinat Jumeirah hotel and in the shadow of the iconic Burj Al Arab (برج العرب‎).

The finishing point for all races of the Dubai Marathon 2024 is at the Dubai Police Academy, at the end of Umm Suqeim Road.

The time limit for completing the marathon is 6 hours.

Water and nutrition stations are located every 2.5 km (starting from km 5), and toilets are available every 5 km. These stations provide runners with water, isotonic drinks, and refreshing sponges.

You can leave your personal belongings in the baggage deposit area near the start and finish zone. Your belongings must be packed in the deposit bag, which is included in your Race Pack along with your bib number and a sticker. The bag should be marked with the sticker that bears your race number.

The route of the Dubai Marathon 2024 is certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).

To collect your Race Pack, you should show your photo ID and your confirmation email.

You may authorize another person to collect your Race Pack. The collecting person needs to present a printout of your confirmation letter and their photo ID.

No health certificate is required to participate in any race of the Dubai Marathon 2024.
