The Daufuskie Island Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held on Daufuskie Island, state of South Carolina, USA. The official name of the event is Daufuskie Island Marathon. Around 350 athletes take part in marathon race and other competitions (114 runners completed marathon and 214 finished half marathon in 2022).
The Daufuskie Island Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier.

The marathon race of 26.2mi/42.195km starts at 8:30 14 January 2023 (Saturday) from Lighthouse Lane in Haig Point, Daufuskie Island.
Half Marathon race, 13.1mi/21.097km (Daufuskie Island Half Marathon)
The half marathon race of 13.1mi/21.097km starts at 9:30 14 January 2024 (Saturday) from Lighthouse Lane in Haig Point, Daufuskie Island.
The course of the Daufuskie Island Marathon 2023 an out-and-back 13.1mi/21.097km route; marathoners run 2 loops, half marathon participants — 1 loop.
The route passes on paved (90% of the course) and unpaved roads on north and central parts of Daufuskie Island, by the waters of Calibogue Sound, the deep channel between Hilton Head and Daufuskie Islands.
The course follows many of the Daufuskie Island highlights such as Haig Point Lighthouse, Freeport, Daufuskie Marsh Tacky Society, Tabby Circle overlooking the Atlantic, the “Painted Houses” off Driftwood Cottage lane.
The course is on open roads, but traffic is very scarce. You are more likely to see a golf cart on the roads than a car.

Course of the Daufuskie Island Marathon 2023: 2 loops for the marathon, 1 loop for the half marathon
The start and finish for all races of the Daufuskie Island Marathon 2023 are located on Lighthouse Lane at the end of the plantar intersection with Lighthouse court in Haig Point, Daufuskie Island.
The finish closes at 16:30.

Runners get pre-race bananas and breakfast bars at the food tent near the Start and Finish Line.
There are three water and nutrition stations on the loop. The stations provide runners with drinking water, Hammer Nutrition gels and Heed. Finishers get lunch and drinks.
Before the start 14 January 2023 (Saturday), you may leave your personal belongings near the Start and Finish Line at the bag drop tent. The bag is to be clearly marked with your name and bib number. Show your bib number to get your bag back after the race.
You may get to Daufuskie Island by private boat or by ferry from Hilton Head Island Embarkation (10 Haig Point ct, Hilton Head, SC 29928) to Haig Point’s Daufuskie Island Landing. Ferry fee is $35 for a roundtrip. Special ferry for runners and race stuff only departs at 6:00 14 January 2023 (Saturday). Spectators may catch the ferry at 7:30 and later.
Shuttle service is provided from the Haig Point South Gate to race start every twenty minutes starting at 6:30 on race day.
The route of the Daufuskie Island Marathon 2023 is certified by the Road Running Technical Council of USA Track & Field (USATF).

The entry fee for the Daufuskie Island Marathon 2023 varies depending on the date of purchase:

There are no bridges from mainland to Daufuskie Island. Runners are ferried over by boat from 10 Haig Point Court and Buckingham Landing in Hilton Head, SC. The ferry fee is $35 for a roundtrip.
Distance upgrades/downgrades can be made up until 13 January 2023.

You may authorize another person to collect your Race Pack.
No health certificate is required to enter any race of the Daufuskie Island Marathon 2023.
