The Texas Marathon and Half Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held in Kingwood, state of Texas, USA. The official name of the event is Texas Marathon. Up to 600 athletes take part in marathon race and other competitions (155 runners completed marathon and 283 finished half marathon in 2022).

The Texas Marathon is an official Boston Qualifier.

The marathon race of 26.2mi/42.195km starts at 8:00 1 January 2023 (Sunday) on Greenbelt Trail near the Greentree Pool (3826 Brook Shadow Drive, Kingwood, Texas).

The half marathon race of 13.1mi/21.097km starts at 8:15 1 January 2023 (Sunday) on Greenbelt Trail near the Greentree Pool (3826 Brook Shadow Drive, Kingwood, Texas).

Course

The course of the Texas Marathon 2023 consists of four loops on shaded greenbelts in Kingwood, it goes around a small lake near Scenic Shore Drive and Lake Houston. The course of the Texas Half Marathon 2023 is made of 2 loops.

The route is run entirely on concrete greenbelt trails and it is open to the public for the time of the race.

Start and finish for the Texas Marathon and Half Marathon 2023 are at Greentree Park near the Greentree Pool (3826 Brook Shadow Drive, Kingwood, Texas).

The time limit for completing the marathon or half marathon is 8 hours 30 minutes. Additional limit: you must complete 3 loops of the marathon course before 15:00.

Water and nutrition stations are located approximately every 1.5mi/2.5km of the route and at the finish. The stations provide runners with water, isotonic drink, snacks. Finishers get pizza lunch, snacks, fruit, cookies, chips, and soft drinks.

Before the start 1 January 2023 (Sunday) you may leave your drop bag (no valuables) near the start and finish line, your bag is easily accessible from the race course.

The route of the Texas Marathon 2023 is certified by USA Track & Field USATF.

Registration

You may sign up for races of the Texas Marathon 2023 online.

The online registration is open till 30 December 2022.

The entry fee for the Texas Marathon or Half Marathon 2023 is $90.

Till 1 December 2022 for a fee of $10 you may transfer your registration to another person or withdraw from the race with a refund. More info is here.

Your Marathon or Half Marathon Race Entry includes:

Special award is presented to the finisher of 5 Texas Marathons and every 5 years afterward.

You may pick up the Race Pack with your bib number at the park near the Greentree Pool (3826 Brook Shadow Drive, Kingwood, Texas).
Pick-up desks schedule:
31 December 2022 (Saturday) from 13:00 till 18:00,
1 January 2023 (Sunday) on race day from 6:30.

To get your Race Pack you should show your photo ID.

No health certificate is required to enter any race of the Texas Marathon 2023.
