The New Years Double is an annual long-distance running event held in Allen, state of Texas, USA. The official name of the event is New Years Double. Up to 900 athletes participate in the marathon race and other competitions. In 2023,62 runners completed the marathon, and 235 finished the half marathon in two days: 31 December 2022 — 1 January 2023.

The New Years Double offers three distances: marathon (26.2mi/42.195km), half marathon (13.1mi/21.097km), and a 3.1mi/5km race on both New Year’s Eve (31 December) and New Year’s Day (1 January). 3.1mi/5km Race (5K)

The 3.1mi/5km race starts at 7:00 on both days: 31 December 2023 (Sunday) and 1 January 2024 (Monday) at 701 Angel Parkway in Celebration Park of Allen.

Entry fee: $45—50 per race day.

The discounted price for children up to 12 years old is $25 per 5km race (shirt not included).

The course of the New Years Double 2024 is an out-and-back 6.55mi/10.5km circle. Marathoners run 4 loops, and half marathon participants run 2 loops. The route tracks through Celebration Park and Stacy Ridge Park in Allen, passing a short lighted tunnel and crossing a bridge over a pond with a fountain.

The course is on a paved-concrete city trail that is 8 to 10 feet (2.4 to 3 meters) wide.

The start and finish for the New Years Double Marathon and Half Marathon 2024 are at 701 Angel Parkway in the 99-acre (40-hectare) Celebration Park, which is the newest Community Park of Allen.

The time limit for completing the marathon or half marathon is 7 hours. Additional limits are applied at certain points of the course. The finish line closes at 15:30.

Water and nutrition stations are located approximately every 1.75 miles of the route, including the finish. The stations provide runners with drinking water by Crazy Water and sports drink.

Before the start, you may leave your personal belongings (no valuables) that you may need on the course in an unattended area near the Start and Finish Line.

Online registration is open till 27 December 2023.

If registered by 20 October 2023, you get your name on your bib number.

The entry fee per race day (New Year’s Eve, 31 December 2023, or New Year’s Day, 1 January 2024) for the New Years Double Marathon or Half Marathon 2024 increases from $85 to $110 depending on the number of entries.

You may sign up for the New Years Double Virtual races. If slots are available, you may switch your virtual entry to an in-person entry until 30 November 2023.

A 5% discount is applied for each race you sign up for, except the first and more expensive one.

A family of 5 or more gets a discount upon demand.

Until 28 December 2023, you may make day/distance category changes (with surcharge if applicable). Until 1 December 2023, you may cancel your registration and get an entry fee refund, besides $15—40 administration fee. More info is here.

Your Marathon or Half Marathon Race Entry includes:

• Bib number with a time measuring chip
• Safety pins to attach your bib number
• Race T-shirt for each race day
• Bag deposit in unattended area
• Food and beverages stations, toilets along the course and after the race
• Colored finisher medal
• Challenge plate (for finishers of at least 2 races: 1 per each race day)
• Online race results
• Digital race certificate with indicated finish time
• Medical aid if necessary

You may pick up the Race Pack with your bib number in two ways:
1. By appointment made through the link that will be provided 2 weeks before the race, at the Community Room of Municipal Courts Building, City of Allen Parks & Recreation (301 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas 75013):

• 28 December 2023 (Thursday) from 17:00 to 19:00
• 29 December 2023 (Friday) from 17:00 to 18:00

2. At the Race Site near the Start Line in Celebration Park (701 Angel Parkway, Allen, Texas):

• 30 December 2023 (Saturday) from 15:00 to 17:00
• 31 December 2023 and 1 January 2024 (Sunday and Monday) on race days from 6:30 to 8:30.

To get your Race Pack, you should tell your Entrant ID that you received upon registration.

You may also authorize another person to collect your Race Pack. The collecting person needs to present a signed note or printed email from you, giving them permission to collect on your behalf, along with telling your Entrant ID.

No health certificate is required to participate in any race of the New Years Double 2024.
