The Maui Oceanfront Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held on the island of Maui, state of Hawaii, USA. The official name of the event is Maui Oceanfront Marathon. About 2.000 athletes take part in marathon race and other competitions (267 runners completed marathon and 389 finished half marathon in 2022).
The Maui Oceanfront Marathon is an official Boston Qualifier.
In 2021 the Maui Oceanfront Marathon was cancelled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

Maui Oceanfront Marathon 2019
Marathon race, 26.2mi/42.195km (Maui Oceanfront Marathon)
The marathon race of 26.2mi/42.195km starts in the morning at 4:00, 4:40 and 5:00 (main race) 15 January 2023 (Sunday) at Wailea Ike Dr in Wailea.
Half Marathon race, 13.1mi/21.097km
The half marathon race of 13.1mi/21.097km starts in 3 waves at 6:35, at 6:40, at 6:45 15 January 2023 (Sunday) on 525 Front Street in Lahaina.
The course of the Maui Oceanfront Marathon 2023 tracks north on the oceanfront from Wailea through Kihei, the Kealia ponds, whale infested Maalaea Bay, the Pali, Papalaua beach, Olowalu beach, Launiupoko beach, Puamana Park to the south end of Lahaina, famous for the largest banyan tree in Hawaii.
The course is on asphalt and the shoulder of the road with the first 1.5 miles and the last mile is closed to traffic.
There is a yellow paint course marker for every mile of the route, it states “miles to go“.
Marathoners need a headlamp for safety, you may buy a used one for $10 at the packet pick-up.
The Maui Oceanfront Half Marathon 2023 is an out and back race, its course coincides with the last 1/4 of the marathon route.
Start line for the Maui Oceanfront Marathon 2023 is at Wailea Ike Dr in Wailea.
Start line for the Maui Oceanfront Half Marathon 2023 and finish for all the races is on Front Street at the South end of Old Lahaina Town, near Malu Ulu Olele Park and beachfront Kamehameha Iki Park.

The time limit for completing the marathon or the half marathon is 7 hours.
18 water and nutrition stations are located at the marathon route, and 9 — at the half marathon route. The stations provide runners with drinking water, Ultima Replenisher isotonic, Cliff Bars, cookies, fruit, candy, Clif Shot Bloks energy gel. Finishers get snacks and Ultima Replenisher isotonic.
Before the start 15 January 2023 (Sunday) you may leave your personal belongings close to the finish line in Lahaina — behind the Hale near the toilets.
The route of the Maui Oceanfront Marathon 2023 is certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), by the Road Running Technical Council of USA Track & Field (USATF).

The entry fee for the Maui Oceanfront Marathon 2023 is $140.
The entry fee for the Maui Oceanfront Half Marathon 2022 2023 is $130.
The entry fees may increase as the race day approaches.
Discounts are available for certain clubs’ members, active military personnel, residents of Maui, seniors over 60 and youth aged 17 and under.
You may switch to another distance (with surcharge if applicable) online till 16 December 2022 or at the Race Pack pick-up 13—14 January 2023. Till 16 December 2022, it’s possible to defer your entry to next year. More info is here.

No health certificate is required to enter any race of the Maui Oceanfront Marathon 2023.
