The Miami Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held in Miami and Miami Beach, state of Florida, USA. The official name of the event is Life Time Miami Marathon and Half. Around 18,000 athletes participate in the marathon race and other competitions. In 2023, 2,827 runners completed the marathon, and 12,645 finished the half marathon.

The Miami Marathon 2004 was the first race in the world to introduce a spinning medal.

The Miami Marathon 2024 is a qualifying event for the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Championships.

The Miami Marathon is an official Boston Marathon Qualifier.

The marathon race, covering a distance of 26.2mi/42.195km, starts at 6:00 AM on 28 January 2024 (Sunday) at 601 Biscayne Boulevard, in front of the American Airlines Arena.

Age limit: at least 16 years old on race date.

Half Marathon race, 13.1mi/21.097km (Life Time Miami Half Marathon)

The half marathon race, spanning a distance of 13.1 mi/21.097 km, commences simultaneously with the marathon at 6:00 AM on 28 January 2024 (Sunday) at 601 Biscayne Boulevard, in front of the American Airlines Arena.

Age limit: at least 14 years old on race date.

3.1mi/5km Race (Life Time Tropical 5K)

The 3.1mi/5km race starts at 7:30 AM on 27 January 2024 (Saturday) on the 980 MacArthur Causeway, near the Miami Children’s Museum on Watson Island.

Age limit: at least 4 years old on race date.

Entry fee: $55—60.

A single-loop course is followed for the Miami Marathon and Half Marathon (Life Time Miami Marathon and Half) 2024, taking participants through the streets of Miami and Miami Beach, including the little islands of Biscayne Bay. The route encompasses the crossing of Biscayne Bay via the MacArthur Causeway Bridge to Watson Island and the return to mainland Miami through the Venetian Causeway. At this point, the Miami Half Marathon finishes, while marathoners continue southbound. Runners cross the Miami River twice over a drawbridge and enjoy views of the Miami South Channel from the Rickenbacker Causeway.

Mile signs are posted at every mile of the route, and markers are positioned at each 5km split.

The course of the Miami Half Marathon (Life Time Miami Half Marathon) 2024 follows the same route as the first half of the marathon.

The starting point for the Miami Marathon and Half Marathon (Life Time Miami Marathon and Half) 2024 is on 601 Biscayne Boulevard in front of the American Airlines Arena, which is home to the NBA’s Miami Heat basketball team.

The finish line is located four blocks south of the start line, at the intersection of 301 Biscayne Boulevard and E. Flagler Street.

Participants of the Miami Marathon and Half Marathon 2024 are assigned to starting blocks based on their previous race results. The assigned starting block is indicated on the bib number. Runners are allowed to start from the block behind their assigned starting position.

If you have an official proof of time from the past 12 months, you can request a change to your assigned starting block at the Race Kit Pick-up.

The time limit for completing the marathon is 7 hours after the start of the last runner, while for the half marathon, it is 4 hours. There are additional time limits at certain points along the course. The finish line closes at 14:00.

Pacemakers are available for the Miami Marathon and Half Marathon (Life Time Miami Marathon and Half) 2024 to help participants maintain a specific pace and finish within a certain time. The pacemakers can be identified by special bibs displaying their individual pace times. The marathon goal times range from 3:00 to 7:00 hours, while the half marathon target times range from 1:35 to 3:30 hours.

Water and nutrition stations are provided approximately every mile along the route, starting from mile 1.5, as well as at the finish line. These stations offer drinking water, Gatorade Endurance Formula sports drink, and Gatorade Endurance energy gel to the runners.

Starting from 4:15 AM on 28 January 2024 (Sunday), you can leave your personal belongings near the Finish Line at the check-in area in the north end of Bayfront Park, past the Bayside Marketplace. Your belongings must be packed in an event-issued clear deposit bag, and you should attach your Gear Check tab to the bag. The bag and the tab are included in your Race Pack along with your bib number.
