The Miami Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held in Miami and Miami Beach, state of Florida, USA. The official name of the event is Life Time Miami Marathon and Half Marathon. Up to 15.000 athletes take part in marathon race and other competitions (3.229 runners completed marathon and 15.560 finished half marathon in 2020).
The Miami Marathon 2004 was the first race in the world to have a spinning medal.
The Miami Marathon is an official Boston Marathon Qualifier.
Runners from 50 USA states and 83 countries took part in races of the Miami Marathon 2020.
In 2021 the Miami Marathon was cancelled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. Virtual races were held instead.

The marathon race of 26.2mi/42.195km starts at 6:00 6 February 2022 (Sunday) on 601 Biscayne Boulevard in front of the American Airlines Arena.
Age limit: at least 16 years old on race date.
Half Marathon race, 13.1mi/21.097km (Life Time Miami Half Marathon)
The half marathon race of 13.1mi/21.097km starts simultaneously with the marathon at 6:00 6 February 2022 (Sunday) on 601 Biscayne Boulevard in front of the American Airlines Arena.
Age limit: at least 14 years old on race date.
3.1mi/5km Race (Life Time Tropical 5K)
The 3.1mi/5km race starts at 7:30 5 February 2022 (Saturday) on 980 MacArthur Causeway near Miami Children’s Museum on Watson Island.
Entry fee: $50—60.
A single-loop course of the Miami Marathon and Half Marathon (Life Time Miami Marathon and Half) 2022 tracks through the streets of Miami and Miami Beach, through little islands of Biscayne Bay. The route traverses Biscayne Bay over the MacArthur Causeway Bridge to Watson Island and returns to mainland Miami by the Venetian Causeway. Here, the Miami Half Marathon finishes and marathoners continue southbound. The runners twice cross the Miami River over a drawbridge and view Miami South Channel from the Rickenbacker Causeway.
The course of the Miami Half Marathon (Life Time Miami Half Marathon) 2022 coincides with the first half of the marathon route.
Start for the Miami Marathon and Half Marathon (Life Time Miami Marathon and Half) 2022 is on 601 Biscayne Boulevard in front of the American Airlines Arena, the home of the NBA’s Miami Heat basketball team.
Finish is four blocks south of the start line, on 301 Biscayne Boulevard (intersection of Biscayne & E. Flagler Street).

The Miami Marathon and Half Marathon 2022 participants are divided into starting blocks according to the results of the previous races. The starting block is indicated on the bib number.
You may change your assigned starting block at the Race Kit Pick-up if you have an official proof of time within the past 12 months.
The time limit for completing the marathon is 7 hours after the start of the last runner, for the half marathon distance — 4 hours. Additional limits are applied for certain points of the course. The finish closes at 14:00.
The pace makers of the Miami Marathon and Half Marathon (Life Time Miami Marathon and Half) 2022 provide the necessary pace in order to finish within a certain time. The pace makers can be recognized by special bibs which display their individual pace time. Goal times for marathon are following: 3:00, 3:15, 3:30, 3:35, 3:40, 3:45, 3:55, 4:00, 4:05, 4:10, 4:15, 4:20, 4:25, 4:30, 4:40, 4:45, 4:50, 5:00, 5:15, 5:30, 6:00, 6:30, 7:00 hours. These are half marathon target times: 1:35, 1:37, 1:40, 1:45, 1:47, 1:50, 1:52, 1:55, 1:57, 2:00, 2:07, 2:10, 2:12, 2:15, 2:20, 2:22, 2:25, 2:37, 2:45, 3:00, 3:10, 3:20, 3:30 hours.
Water and nutrition stations are located approximately every mile of the route starting at mile 1.5, and at the finish. The stations provide runners with drinking water Miami-Dade’s Water, Gatorade Endurance Formula sports drink, Gatorade Endurance energy gel, fruit.
From 4:15 6 February 2022, you may leave your personal belongings near the Finish Line at the check-in area in the north end of Bayfront Park, past the Bayside Marketplace. The stuff must be packed in an event-issued clear deposit bag; you should attach to your bag your Gear Check tear-tab. The bag and the tab are included in your Race Pack along with your bib number.
The route of the Miami Marathon and Half Marathon (Life Time Miami Marathon and Half) 2022 is certified by the Road Running Technical Council of USA Track & Field (USATF).
