The Walt Disney World® Marathon and Half Marathon are annual long-distance running events and weekend race series held in the Walt Disney World® Resort in Bay Lake, state of Florida, USA. The official name of the event is Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend. About 30.000 athletes take part in marathon race and other competitions (12,694 runners completed the marathon, and 15,344 finished the half marathon in 2023).

The Walt Disney World Resort, also known as Disney World, is an entertainment complex located in Bay Lake, Florida, United States, near the cities of Orlando and Kissimmee.

The Walt Disney World Marathon is an official Boston Qualifier.

In 2021, the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend was cancelled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. Virtual races were held instead.

Walt Disney World® Marathon 2023

Double race: half marathon distance of 13.1mi/21.097km and marathon distance of 26.2mi/42.195km (Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge)

Runners participating in the Double race finish the half marathon on 6 January 2024 (Saturday) and then run the marathon on 7 January 2024 (Sunday).

Finishers receive 3 medals.

Age limit: at least 18 years old on race day.

Entry fee: $432—442.

4 race challenge: 3.1mi/5km, 6.2mi/10km, half marathon distance of 13.1mi/21.097km, and marathon distance of 26.2mi/42.195km (Dopey Challenge)

Runners participating in the Dopey Challenge complete all 4 Walt Disney World Weekend races in 4 consecutive days: 3.1mi/5km race on 4 January 2024 (Thursday), 6.2mi/10km race on 5 January 2024 (Friday), half marathon on 6 January 2024 (Saturday), and marathon on 7 January 2024 (Sunday).

Finishers receive 6 medals.

Age limit: at least 18 years old on race day.

Entry fee: $672—683.

6.2mi/10km Race (Walt Disney World® 10K)

The 6.2mi/10km race starts at 5:00 AM on 5 January 2024 (Friday) in the parking area of Epcot, one of the Walt Disney World® theme parks.

Age limit: at least 10 years old on race day.

Entry fee: 150.99—160.99.

The 3.1mi/5km race starts at 5:00 AM on 4 January 2024 (Thursday) in the parking area of Epcot, one of the Walt Disney World® theme parks.

The course of the Walt Disney World® Marathon 2024 takes runners through all four Disney World theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

The start and finish lines for the Walt Disney World® Marathon and Half Marathon 2024 are near Spaceship Earth, a geodesic sphere at Epcot, one of the Walt Disney World® theme parks. The start line is on Epcot Center Drive, and the finish line is in the Epcot parking area.

Participants of the Walt Disney World® Marathon and Half Marathon 2024 are divided into starting blocks based on their previous race results provided during registration and their anticipated finish time. Runners are allowed to start from a block behind their assigned starting position.

The starting block is indicated on the bib number. You may change your starting block in your participant account untill 26 September 2023.

The time limit for completing the marathon is 7 hours, and for the half marathon, it is 3 hours and 30 minutes. Participants must maintain a pace of at least 16 minutes per mile to remain on the route.

Before the start, you can leave your personal belongings at the gEAR Bag Check Tent near the start and finish zone in Epcot. Your items must be packed in a clear event-issued deposit bag, which is included in your Race Pack along with your bib number.

The routes of the Walt Disney World® Marathon and Half Marathon 2024 are certified by USA Track & Field.

To have your name printed on your bib number, you must register by 26 September 2023.

The entry fee for the Walt Disney World® Marathon 2024 varies depending on the date of purchase:

The entry fee for the Walt Disney World® Half Marathon 2024 varies depending on the date of purchase:
from 11 April untill 16 September 2023 — $218.99,
from 17 September 2023 — $229.

You can also sign up for Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend Virtual events 2024. The registration is open only to residents of the USA and U.S. Territories.

To receive your Race Pack, you must present your photo ID, your Expo Check-in Pass (printed or digital) available on your runDisney Account, and complete the digital waiver.

No health certificate is required to participate in any race of the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend 2024.
