The Romeo&Giulietta Half Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held in Verona, Italy. The official name of the event is Romeo&Giulietta Run Half Marathon. Approximately 8,000 athletes participate in the half marathon race. In 2023, 4,313 runners completed the half marathon.

The Romeo&Giulietta Half Marathon in Verona occurs on the closest Sunday to 14 February, the day of Saint Valentine, the patron saint of love.

In the CRAFT Giulietta&Romeo Half Marathon 2023 in Verona, participants from 62 different nationalities took part in the event.

In 2023, course records for the Giulietta&Romeo Half Marathon in Verona were broken in both the men’s and women’s categories: Ethiopian Mikesa Mengesha achieved a time of 1:00:15, while Kenyan Janeth Chepngetich finished in 1:06:58.

The start of the Verona Romeo&Giulietta Half Marathon (Romeo&Giulietta Run Half Marathon) 2024 takes place on Piazzale Olimpia near the stadium (Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi). The finish is located at the stadium (Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi).

Participants in the Verona Romeo&Giulietta Half Marathon 2024 are categorized into starting blocks based on their anticipated finish times, with the designated block indicated on the bib number.

The time limit for completing the half marathon is 3 hours.

The pacemakers for the Verona Romeo&Giulietta Half Marathon 2024 maintain the required pace to help participants finish within specific time goals. These pacemakers can be identified by their flags, which display the corresponding finish times. The target times for the half marathon are as follows: 1:20, 1:24, 1:30, 1:35, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 1:55, 2:00, 2:05, 2:10, 2:15, 2:20, 2:30, 3:00.

Water and nutrition stations are located every 5km along the route and at the finish line. These stations provide runners with drinking water, energy gel, and snacks.

Before the start on 11 February 2024, runners can store their personal belongings in the designated area near the starting zone (Piazzale Olimpia, Verona). Your belongings must be packed in the event-issued deposit bag, which is included in your Race Pack along with your bib number.

Registration

You can sign up for the Verona Romeo&Giulietta Half Marathon (Romeo&Giulietta Run Half Marathon) 2024 online.

Online registration is open until 7 February 2024 or until slots are filled.

If slots are available you can register for the races on 9—10 February 2024 (Friday and Saturday) at the Expo of the Verona Romeo&Giulietta Half Marathon 2024, located at AGSM Forum (Palasport di Verona, Piazzale Azzurri d’Italia).

The entry fee for the Verona Romeo&Giulietta Half Marathon 2024 varies depending on the number of entries:
from 1 to 1,000 — €30,
from 1,001 to 1,750 — €32,
from 1,751 to 2,500 — €34,
from 2,501 to 3,250 — €36,
from 3,251 to 4,000 — €38,
from 4,001 to 6,500 — €40,
9—10 February 2024 — €50.

The entry fee does not include service fees.

You have the option to participate in either a competitive or non-competitive race.

For the competitive race of the Verona Romeo &Giulietta Half Marathon (Romeo&Giulietta Run Half Marathon) 2024, you need to have a medical certificate filled out by a doctor. If you are not a member of any Sports Federation affiliated with IAAF, you also require a RunCard (Italian Athletics Federation membership for foreign athletes). The enrollment fee for the RunCard is €15 for a one-year period.

For the non-competitive race of the Verona Romeo&Giulietta Half Marathon (Romeo&Giulietta Run Half Marathon) 2024, no RunCard or health documents are needed. Every participant must sign a liability waiver form. Non-competitive athletes are not included in the general ranking and are not eligible for any prizes or bonuses.

Until 28 January 2024, you have the option to transfer your registration to the next year or to another person for a fee of €10. More info is here.

To obtain your Race Pack, you should present your photo ID and the confirmation letter that you will receive by email.

If needed, you have the option to authorize another person to collect your Race Pack on your behalf. The designated individual must present your signed confirmation letter and a copy of your ID.
