The Madrid Half Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held in Madrid, Spain. The official name of the event is Movistar Medio Maratón de Madrid. About 20.000 athletes take part in half marathon race and other competitions (18.627 runners completed half marathon in 2019).
Predecessor of the Madrid Half Marathon was a 20km race — 20 kilómetros Villa de Madrid, it was arranged since 1989.
In 2019 the Kenyan athlete Kipkemoi Kiprono finished the Madrid Half Marathon with 1:01:47 result and broke the course record.
In 2020 the Madrid Half Marathon was cancelled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
Another Madrid Half Marathon together with Marathon is held in September — EDP Maratón de Rock’n’Roll Madrid & ½.

The half marathon race of 13.1mi/21.097km starts at 9:15 11 April 2021 (Sunday) from Paseo del Prado next to Plaza de la Cibeles.
Age limit: born in 2003 and earlier.
3.1mi/5km Race (Carrera 5k — ProFuturo)
The 3.1mi/5km race starts at 9:00 11 April 2021 (Sunday) from Paseo del Prado next to Plaza de la Cibeles.
Age limit: born in 2007 and earlier.
Entry fee: €8.6—20.
The one lap course of the Madrid Half Marathon (Movistar Medio Maratón de Madrid) 2021 tracks along the streets of Spanish capital.

Highlights of the course:
- twin skyscrapers Columbus Towers (Torres de Colón), built from top to bottom in 1976;
- Cuatro Torres (Four Towers), the tallest skyscrapers in Spain;
- Cybele Palace (Palacio de Cibeles), built in the beginning of the XX century;
- Prado Museum (Museo Nacional del Prado), one of the most visited sites in the world, and one of the world greatest art museums;
- Neptune Fountain (Fuente de Neptuno).

Start for all races of the Madrid Half Marathon (Movistar Medio Maratón de Madrid) 2021 is on Paseo del Prado close to Plaza de la Cibeles.
Finish is not far from the start — on Paseo del Prado near Plaza Murillo.

The Madrid Half Marathon 2021 participants are divided into starting blocks according to the expected finish time. The starting block is indicated on the bib number. You may start from the slower block.
Time limit for completing the half marathon is 3 hours.
The pace makers of the Madrid Half Marathon (Movistar Medio Maratón de Madrid) 2021 provide the necessary pace in order to finish within a certain time. Target times for half marathon are following: 1:25, 1:30, 1:35, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 1:55, 2:00, 2:05, 2:10 hours.
Water and nutrition stations are located every 5km of the route and at the finish. The stations provide runners with water, isotonic drink, energy gel and bars. Toilets are at km 11 of the route, at the start and finish line.
Before the start runners may leave their personal belongings from 7:30 11 April 2021 (Sunday) in the deposit area next to Plaza de Neptuno, not far from the start and finish line.
The route of the Madrid Half Marathon 2021 is certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and approved by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (Real Federación Española de Atletismo, RFEA). The event is one of the World Athletics Silver Label Road Races.

The entry fee for the Madrid Half Marathon (Movistar Medio Maratón de Madrid) 2021 varies depending on the date of purchase:

from 1 December 2020 till 28 February 2021 — €26.8,
from 1 March till 7 April 2021 — €28.8,

The cost of the one day license of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (Real Federación Española de Atletismo) — €3 is added to the entry fee unless you own the license or the card Corredor Plus.

No health certificate is required to enter any race of the Madrid Half Marathon (Movistar Medio Maratón de Madrid) 2021.
