The Warsaw Half Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held in Warsaw, Poland. The official name of the event is Półmaraton Warszawski. About 13.000 athletes take part in half marathon race (12.761 completed half marathon in 2019).

In 2020 the Warsaw Half Marathon was cancelled due to the COVID-19 virus.

The Warsaw Half Marathon is in the list of Polish Crown Half Marathons (Korona Polskich Półmaratonów) 2020/2021 as well as half marathons in Gdynia (Gdynia Półmaraton), Bialystok (PKO Białystok Półmaraton), Poznan (PKO Poznań Półmaraton), Wroclaw (Nocny Wrocław Półmaraton).

The Warsaw Half Marathon participants receive a silver merit badge for 5 completed races, and a golden merit badge is for finishers of 10 competitions.

Besides the half marathon, you may run Warsaw marathon in spring (ORLEN Warsaw Marathon) and in autumn (Maraton Warszawski).

The half marathon race of 13.1mi/21.097km starts at 10:00 28 March 2021 (Sunday) near Romuald Traugutta Park in Warsaw.

Age limit: from 18 years old on the race date.

Course

The one lap course of the Warsaw Half Marathon (Półmaraton Warszawski) 2021 tracks through central Warsaw districts, crosses the Vistula (Wisła) river by Gdański Bridge and Świętokrzyski Bridge.

Start of the Warsaw Half Marathon (Półmaraton Warszawski) 2021 is near Romuald Traugutta Park in Warsaw.

Finish is not far from the start — near Multimedia Fountain Park (Multimedialny Park Fontann).

The Warsaw Half Marathon 2021 participants are divided into starting blocks according to the results of the previous races. Editing the declared race result is possible till 28 February 2021. The starting block is indicated by color on the bib number.

If you sign up for the race after 28 February 2021 the appropriate starting block is not guaranteed.

Time limit for completing the half marathon is 3 hours 30 minutes. Additional limits are applied for certain points of the course.

The pace makers of the Warsaw Half Marathon (Półmaraton Warszawski) 2021 provide the necessary pace in order to finish within a certain time. The pace makers can be recognized by flags marked with the corresponding finish time. Target times for half marathon are 1:20, 1:25, 1:30, 1:35, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 1:55, 2:00, 2:10, 2:15, 2:20 hours.

Water and nutrition stations, toilets are located every 4 km of the route beginning from km 5, and at the finish. The stations provide runners with water, isotonic drink, energy tablets, sugar, fruit.

Before the start you may leave your personal belongings in the baggage deposit area near the start and finish zone. The stuff must be packed in a deposit bag (it is included in your Race Pack along with your bib number and a sticker). The bag is to be marked with the sticker that has your race number on it. To pick up your bag after the race you need to show your bib number.

The route of the Warsaw Half Marathon (Półmaraton Warszawski) 2021 is certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and Polish Athletics Association (Polish Athletic Association — PZLA). The event is one of the World Athletics Silver Label Road Races.

Registration

You may sign up for the Warsaw Half Marathon (Półmaraton Warszawski) 2021 online.

The online registration is open till 27 March 2021 or till the slots last.

If slots are available you may sign up for the race in the Race Office from 26 March 2021.

The entry fee for the Warsaw Half Marathon (Półmaraton Warszawski) 2021 for foreigners varies depending on the date of purchase:
till 19 April 2020 — €38.25,
from 20 April till 31 October 2020 — €45,
from 1 November 2020 till 28 February 2021 — €50,
1—25 March 2021 — €55,
from 26 March 2021 in the Race Office (if available) — €65.

There are special discounted rates for Polish citizens and residents. 50% discount is granted for athletes born in 1956 or earlier. The registration is free for participants on wheelchairs.

Till 19 March 2021 you may cancel your registration for a fee of €8, the rest amount remains on your profile and can be used to register yourself or other people for any event of the Warsaw Marathon Foundation (Maraton Warszawski). More info is here.

Till 14 March 2021 you may register a team to participate in the team classification. The team should consist of 4 people minimum, including at least 1 woman.

To get your Race Pack you should show your ID with photo.

You may authorize another person to collect your Race Pack. The collecting person needs to present a copy of your ID, your signed starting card (to be downloaded from the event website about two weeks before the race).

No health certificate is required to enter the Warsaw Half Marathon (Półmaraton Warszawski) 2021.
