The Stockholm Half Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held in Stockholm, Sweden. The official name of the event is Ramboll Stockholm Halvmarathon. About 11.000 athletes take part in half marathon race (10.233 completed half marathon in 2019).

Half marathon races of different names were organized in Stockholm since 1927. The present Stockholm Half Marathon is held since 2001.

Runners from 87 countries took part in the Stockholm Half Marathon 2019.

In 2020 the Stockholm Half Marathon was cancelled as in-person race due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis and converted to virtual event.

The course of the Stockholm Half Marathon (Ramboll Stockholm Halvmarathon) 2021 tracks through the districts of Stockholm: Norrmalm, Vasastan, Kungsholmen, Old Town (Gamla stan) and Södermalm.

Highlights of the course:

• Karlberg Palace (Karlbergs slott), built in XVII century, it houses the Military Academy Karlberg;
• Stockholm City Hall (Stockholms stadshus), the venue of the Nobel Prize banquet and one of the city’s major tourist attractions;
• Royal Palace (Kungliga slottet), the official residence of the Swedish monarch, rebuilt in XVIII century in baroque style;
• Parliament House of Sweden (Riksdagshuset);
• Royal Swedish Opera (Kungliga Operan).

Start and finish of the Stockholm Half Marathon (Ramboll Stockholm Halvmarathon) 2021 is on the Norrbro Bridge over Helgeandsholmen island, near the Royal Palace (Kungliga slottet), the official residence of the Swedish monarch, and the Royal Swedish Opera (Kungliga Operan).

The Stockholm Half Marathon (Ramboll Stockholm Halvmarathon) 2021 participants are divided into starting blocks according to the results of the previous races, indicated while registering. Blocks start every 5 minutes.

Time limit for completing the half marathon is 2 hours 45 minutes from the start of the last starting block.

The pace makers of the Stockholm Half Marathon (Ramboll Stockholm Halvmarathon) 2021 provide the necessary pace in order to finish within a certain time. The pace makers can be recognized by flags marked with the corresponding finish time. Target times for half marathon are 1:20, 1:30, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 2:00, 2:10, 2:20 hours.

7 water and nutrition stations are located on the half marathon route. The stations provide runners with drinking water, isotonic drink Enervit, water for sponges. Fruit, snacks and beverages are available at the finish area.

The route of the Stockholm Half Marathon (Ramboll Stockholm Halvmarathon) 2021 is certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).

If slots are available you may sign up for the races 10—11 September 2021 (including the race day) at the Expo of the Stockholm Half Marathon (Ramboll Stockholm Halvmarathon) 2021. Please check the location of the Expo on the event website.

The entry fee for the Stockholm Half Marathon (Ramboll Stockholm Halvmarathon) 2021 varies depending on the date of purchase:
8—15 September 2020 — €55;
from 16 September 2020 till 22 February 2021 — €60;
from 23 February till 27 June 2021 — €68;
from 28 June till 6 September 2021 — €75;
10—11 September 2021 (including the race day) at the Expo — €85.

Here you may buy preregistration voucher that allows you to take part in Stockholm Half Marathon 2021, or 2022, or 2023. The voucher is to be submitted up till 1 month before the race date. Preregistration voucher is €10 (SEK 100) more expensive than the ordinary registration, but it gives you more flexibility.

You may participate in team competition and get €15 discount if you register a team of 3 runners.

If race is cancelled or participant limit is reduced due to COVID-19 the entry fee will be partly refunded. More info is here.

To get your Race Pack you should show your ID with photo, confirmation letter (sent via e-mail).

You may authorize another person to collect your Race Pack. The collecting person needs to present a copy of your ID, your confirmation letter.

No health certificate is required to enter the Stockholm Half Marathon (Ramboll Stockholm Halvmarathon) 2021.

Race participants are fully responsible for their life, health and any consequence that may result from running a distance. Keep in mind that ordinary health insurance does not cover participation in sport events. Special sport insurance is preferable.
