The Palma Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held in Palma, Mallorca, the Balearic Islands, Spain. The official name of the event is Zafiro Palma Marathon. About 9.000 athletes take part in marathon race and other competitions (919 runners completed marathon and 3.521 finished half marathon in 2019).

In 2020 the Palma Marathon was cancelled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

An out-and-back course of the Palma Marathon (Zafiro Palma Marathon) 2021 tracks on the streets of Palma de Mallorca, the capital and largest city of the Balearic Islands, and along the shores of the Bay of Palma of the Mediterranean Sea. Marathoners run 2 loops, half marathon participants — 1 loop.

The start and finish for all races of the Palma Marathon (Zafiro Palma Marathon) 2021 is in the Parc de la Mar near the Palma Cathedral (Catedral de Santa María de Palma de Mallorca), aka La Seu.

The time limit for completing the marathon is 6 hours. The finish closes at 15:00.

The pace makers of the Palma Marathon (Zafiro Palma Marathon) and Half Marathon 2021 provide the necessary pace in order to finish within a certain time. Finish times for marathon are following: 3:30, 3:45, 4:00 hours. These are half marathon target times: 1:30, 1:40, 1:50 hours.

9 water and nutrition stations are located on the marathon route and 5 on the half marathon route. The stations provide runners with drinking water, sports drink, fruit, energy gel High5, refreshing sponges.

Before the start runners may leave their personal belongings from 7:30 till 15:30 10 October 2021 (Sunday) in the deposit area in the Parc de la Mar. The stuff must be packed in an event-issued deposit bag (the bag is included in your Race Pack along with your bib number).

After finish, you may change and have a shower near the museum Ses Voltes (Passeig Dalt Murada, 1A, 07001 Palma, Illes Balears).

The route of the Palma Marathon (Zafiro Palma Marathon) 2021 is certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).

Registration

You may sign up for races of the Palma Marathon (Zafiro Palma Marathon) 2021 online.

The online registration is open till 3 October 2021 or till the slots last.

If slots are available you may sign up for the races 8—9 October 2021 (Friday — Saturday) at the Expo of the Palma Marathon (Zafiro Palma Marathon) 2021. Only cash payment is possible.

The entry fee for the Palma Marathon (Zafiro Palma Marathon) 2021 varies depending on the date of purchase:
from 11 October till 31 December 2020 — €45;
from 1 January till 31 May 2021 — €60;
from 1 June till 31 August 2021 — €75,
from 1 September till 3 October 2021 — €85;
8—9 October 2021 at the Expo — €100 (cash only).

The entry fee for the Palma Half Marathon 2021 varies depending on the date of purchase:
from 11 October till 31 December 2020 — €30;
from 1 January till 31 May 2021 — €35;
from 1 June till 31 August 2021 — €45;
from 1 September till 3 October 2021 — €55;
8—9 October 2021 at the Expo — €70 (cash only).

Entry fee does not include a 3.5% platform service fee.

There are special discounted rates for the Balearic Islands residents.

Disabled runners get 50% discount of the entry fee.

Until 1 September 2021, you may transfer your registration to another person or cancel your registration with a refund. It’s possible to switch to another distance (with surcharge if applicable). More info is here.

To get your Race Pack you should show your ID with photo, your confirmation.

You may authorize another person to collect your Race Pack. The collecting person needs to present your confirmation letter and a copy of your ID.

No health certificate is required to enter any race of the Palma Marathon (Zafiro Palma Marathon) 2021. Participants sign a release-from-liability waiver.
