The Barossa Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held in Tanunda, the Barossa Valley, Australia. The official name of the event is Barossa Marathon Festival. About 1.000 athletes take part in marathon race and other competitions (151 runners completed marathon and 407 finished half marathon in 2019).
The Barossa Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier.
The running event in the Barossa Valley was first held in 1981 under the name Kaiser-Stuhl Vintage Run and included only half marathon distance. The marathon distance was added in 2012.
The Barossa Valley races were omitted in 1985.
In 2020 the Barossa Marathon Festival was cancelled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

3.1mi/5km Race (Barossa 5K)
The 3.1mi/5km race starts at 8:40 30 May 2021 (Sunday) from Magnolia Road near Faith Lutheran College in Tanunda, South Australia.
Age limit: from 5 years old on the race date.
Entry fee: €18—25 (AUD 28—40) for adults, €14—20 (AUD 22.4—32) for youth of 12—17 years old.
The course of the Barossa Marathon (Barossa Marathon Festival) 2021 is out-and-back 13.1mi/21.097km route; marathoners run 2 loops, half marathon participants — 1 loop. The route tracks through the Barossa Valley from vineyard-surrounded Tanunda to Nuriootpa and back.
Total elevation gain of the half marathon course is 157 m.
The start and finish of all the races of the Barossa Marathon Festival 2021 is near Faith Lutheran College (130 Magnolia Rd) in Tanunda, South Australia.

The time limit for completing the marathon is 6 hours, for the half marathon distance — 5 hours 30 minutes.
The pace makers of the Barossa Marathon (Barossa Marathon Festival) and Half Marathon 2021 provide the necessary pace in order to finish within a certain time. Finish times for marathon are following: 2:30, 2:45, 3:00, 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45, 5:00 hours. These are half marathon target times: 1:30, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 2:00, 2:05, 2:15, 2:30 hours.
13 water and nutrition stations are located at the marathon route and 7 at the half marathon route. The stations provide runners with drinking water, Powerade electrolyte.
The routes of the Barossa Marathon (Barossa Marathon Festival) and Half Marathon 2021 are certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).

The entry fee for the Barossa Half Marathon 2021 varies depending on the date of purchase:

from 3 March till 28 April 2021 — €53 (AUD 85), €42 (AUD 68) for youth 15—17 years old,
from 29 April till 28 May 2021 — €62 (AUD 100) €50 (AUD 80) for youth 15—17 years old.

No health certificate is required to enter any race of the Barossa Marathon Festival 2021.
