The Split Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held in Split, Croatia. The official name of the event is Split Maraton. About 3.000 athletes take part in marathon race and other competitions (586 runners completed marathon and 1.609 finished half marathon in 2020).

Marathon distance joined the traditional Split Half Marathon in 2021.

The marathon race of 26.2mi/42.195km starts at 9:00 26 September 2021 (Sunday) from Riva promenade in Split.

Age limit: from 18 years old on 31 December 2021.

Half Marathon race, 13.1mi/21.097km (Splitski Polumaraton)

The half marathon race of 13.1mi/21.097km starts at 9:00 26 September 2021 (Sunday) from Riva promenade in Split.

Age limit: from 16 years old on 31 December 2021.

Course

The course of the Split Marathon (Split Maraton) 2021 tracks through the historic center of the city — UNESCO World Heritage site, runs in the southern part of the town Solin and around the town of Vranjic which is called Little Venice. Runners move along the coast of the Kashtel Bay (Kaštelanski zaljev) and the Split Channel (Splitski kanal), around Marjan Hill with a forest park and the beach Bene.

Start and finish for all races of the Split Marathon (Split Maraton) 2021 is on Riva promenade near Diocletian’s Palace (Dioklecijanova palača) which is considered to be the best preserved palace of the Roman Empire period.

The time limit for completing the marathon is 6 hours, for completing the half marathon — 3 hours.

There are 11 water and nutrition stations on the marathon course, and 5 stations on the half marathon course. The stations provide runners with water, energy drink, fruit.

The route of the Split Marathon (Split Maraton) 2021 is certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races AIMS.

You may sign up for races of the Split Marathon (Split Maraton) 2021 online.

The online registration is open till 10 September 2021 or till the slots last.

The entry fee for the Split Marathon (Split Maraton) 2021 varies depending on the date of purchase:
till 31 December 2020 — €27 (HRK 200),
from 1 January till 31 May 2021 — €34 (HRK 250),
from 1 June till 31 August 2021 — €47  (HRK 350),
1—10 September 2021 — €68 (HRK 500) only bib number, no Race Pack.

The entry fee for the Split Half Marathon (Splitski Polumaraton) 2021 varies depending on the date of purchase:
till 31 December 2020 — €22 (HRK 160),
from 1 January till 31 May 2021 — €27 (HRK 200),
from 1 June till 31 August 2021 — €40 (HRK 300),
1—10 September 2021 — €54 (HRK 400) only bib number, no Race Pack.

You may have a discount for Double registration (Marathon/Marathon Relay and 5km Race, or Half Marathon and 5 km Race).

You may transfer your registration to another person at no charge till 1 September 2021 and later for a fee of €5 (HRK 35).

Your Marathon or Half Marathon Race Entry includes:

You may pick up the Race Pack with your bib number at the EXPO of the Split Marathon (Split Maraton) 2021 in the sport center Gripe (Osječka 11) in Split.
Registration desks schedule:
24—25 September 2021 (Friday — Saturday) from 10:00 till 20:00,
26 September 2021 (Sunday) on race day from 7:00 till 8:00.

To get your Race Pack you should show your ID with photo (passport), your confirmation email (printed or on the screen).

You may authorize another person to collect your Race Pack. The collecting person needs to present your confirmation email, a copy of your ID.

No health certificate is required to enter any race of the Split Marathon (Split Maraton) 2021.
