The Naples Half Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held in Naples, Italy. The official name of the event is Napoli City Half Marathon. About 6.000 athletes take part in half marathon race and other competitions (4.769 runners completed half marathon in 2020).
In 2020 race record of the Naples Half Marathon was broken both in men’s and women’s categories by Kenyans: Henry Rono clocked 1:00:04 and Viola Cheptoo achieved 1:06:47.

The half marathon race of 21.097km starts at 9:00 28 February 2021 (Sunday) from viale J.F.Kennedy.
Age limit: from 18 years old on the race date.
Relay Half Marathon, 13.1mi/21.097km for 2 runners (Staffetta Twingo)
The relay starts at 9:00 28 February 2021 (Sunday) from viale J.F.Kennedy.
The relay team consists of 2 members each running part of the distance: 1st runner — 6.2mi/10km, 2nd runner — 6.9mi/11.097km.
Age limit: from 16 years old on the race date.
Entry fee: €40 per team.
1.6mi/2.5km Race (Family Run & Friend)
The non-competitive 1.6mi/2.5km race starts at 11:00 27 February 2021 (Saturday) from Piazzale C. Colombo.
No age limit.
Entry fee: €5, free for runners under 10 and over 65 years old.
The course of the Naples Half Marathon (Napoli City Half Marathon) 2021 tracks through the historic center of the city — UNESCO World Heritage site and along the coast of the Bay of Naples.
Highlights of the course:
- the most ancient of Naples’ castles Castel dell’Ovo (Egg Castle),
- the opera house Teatro di San Carlo,
- Castel Nuovo, also known as Maschio Angioino, the medieval castle located in front of Piazza Municipio and the city hall (Palazzo San Giacomo),
- Naples Cathedral (Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta or Cattedrale di San Gennaro) in honour of Saint Januarius, the city’s patron saint,
- The Gothic church and monastery San Domenico Maggiore,
- Mergellina and Saint Nazzaro Harbour (Porto di Mergellina),
- the main city square Piazza del Plebiscito.

The participants of the Naples Half Marathon (Napoli City Half Marathon) 2021 are divided into starting blocks according to the results of the previous races (for the past 2 years). You may not change your block after registration.
Runners should enter their appropriate starting block till 8:45 28 February 2021 (Sunday). Latecomers start from the last block.
Time limit for the half marathon distance is 3 hours.
The pace makers of the Naples Half Marathon (Napoli City Half Marathon) 2021 provide the necessary pace in order to finish within a certain time. Finish times for half marathon are following: 1:30, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 2:00, 2:10, and 2:30 hours.
There are 3 water and nutrition stations along the course. The stations provide runners with drinking water, isotonic, fruit.
The route of the Naples Half Marathon (Napoli City Half Marathon) 2021 is certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). The event is one of the World Athletics Bronze Label Road Races and the European Ahtletics Quality Road Race.

The entry fee for the Naples Half Marathon (Napoli City Half Marathon) 2021 varies depending on the number of entries:
from 1 to 2000 — €25,
from 2001 to 4000 — €30,
from 4001 and onward — €35,
26—27 February 2021 at the Expo — €40.
You may participate in a competitive or a non-competitive race. Non-competitive runners are not entitled for a prize and are not included in the official ranking list.
For the competitive race of the Naples Half Marathon (Napoli City Half Marathon) 2021 you need to show a health form filled by doctor. If you are not a member of any Sports Federation affiliated with WA you also need RunCard (the Italian Athletics Federation membership for the foreign athletes). The enrollment fee for RunCard is €30 for 1 year period.
For the non-competitive race of the Naples Half Marathon (Napoli City Half Marathon) 2021 no RunCard or health documents are needed, every participant signs a liability waiver form. More info is here.
