The Lisbon Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held in Lisbon, Portugal. The official name of the event is EDP Maratona de Lisboa. About 15.000 athletes take part in marathon race and other competitions (4.597 runners completed marathon and 6.024 finished half marathon in 2019).
In 2019 Lisbon Marathon course record was broken: Ethiopian Andualem Belay Shiferaw achieved 2:05:59.
In 2020 the Lisbon Marathon was cancelled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

The course of the Lisbon Half Marathon (Luso Meia Maratona) 2021 passes through the streets of Lisbon along the shore of the river Tagus (Tejo) from the Vasco da Gama Bridge (Ponte Vasco da Gama) to the centre of the city.
Start of the Lisbon Marathon (EDP Maratona de Lisboa) 2021 is from Av. da República near the Manuel Possolo Hippodrome (Hipódromo Manuel Possolo) in Cascais.
Marathoners may use the Lisbon public transport (subway, buses and trains) for free to get to the start line from 6:15 17 October 2021 (Sunday). The bib number serves as a ticket.
Start of the Lisbon Half Marathon (Luso Meia Maratona) 2021 is from cable-stayed Vasco da Gama Bridge (Ponte Vasco da Gama) that spans the river Tagus (Tejo) in Lisbon Parque das Nações.
To reach the start line, half marathon runners may use free shuttles that depart from the Vasco da Gama Shopping Center (Centro comercial Vasco da Gama, Av. D. Joao II 1990-094 Lisboa) from 7:30 till 9:00 17 October 2021 (Sunday). You may get to the Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre by the Lisbon public transport (subway, buses and trains). Your bib number is your ticket for the race day.
Finish of the Lisbon Marathon (EDP Maratona de Lisboa) and Half Marathon (Luso Meia Maratona) 2021 is at Praça do Comércio in the heart of Lisbon.

Time limit for completing the marathon is 6 hours, for the half marathon distance — 3 hours.
13 water and nutrition stations are located on the marathon route, and 6 — on the half marathon route. The stations provide runners with drinking water Vitalis, isotonic drink Powerade, energy gel, fruit. Finishers also get ice-cream.
The routes of the Lisbon Marathon (EDP Maratona de Lisboa) and Half Marathon (Luso Meia Maratona) 2021 are certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). The marathon is one of the World Athletics Silver Label Road Races. The half marathon is among the World Athletics Gold Label Road Races.

The entry fee for the Lisbon Half Marathon (Luso Meia Maratona) 2021 increases from €60 as the race date approaches.

To get your Race Pack you should show your ID with photo, your confirmation letter (sent via email).
You may authorize another person to collect your Race Pack. The collecting person needs to present a copy of your ID, your confirmation letter.
No health certificate is required to enter any race of the Lisbon Marathon (EDP Maratona de Lisboa) 2021.
