The Hamburg Half Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held in Hamburg, Germany. The official name of the event is hella hamburg halbmarathon. About 10.000 athletes take part in Half Marathon race and other competitions (8.618 completed half marathon in 2019).
The Hamburg Half Marathon is a member of German Road Races group.
In 2020 the Hamburg Half Marathon was cancelled due to the COVID-19 virus.

The course of the Hamburg Half Marathon (hella hamburg halbmarathon) 2021 tracks through the streets of Hamburg, around Outer Alster Lake (Außenalster), and along the river Elbe.
Highlights of the course:

Time limit for completing the half marathon is 3 hours 30 minutes. Race finish zone closes at 13:30.
The pace makers of the Hamburg Half Marathon (hella hamburg halbmarathon) 2021 provide the necessary pace in order to finish within a certain time. Target times for half marathon are 1:30, 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45 hours.
There are 7 refreshment stations with “hella naturell” drinking water on the course (km 5, 7, 9, 12.5, 15, 17.5 and 20). A refreshing array of hella products, Erdinger Alkoholfrei, bananas and cereal bars are available at the finish area.
Over 40 music bands, DJs and cheering crews support and entertain the runners along the course.
Before the start runners may leave their personal belongings at the finish area: in the deposit zone at B5 hall (Halle B5) of Hamburg Exhibition and Congress Hall (Hamburg Messe und Congress, St. Petersburger Straße). The stuff must be packed in a deposit bag, the bag is to be marked with the sticker that has your race number on it. The sticker and the bag are included in your Race Pack along with your bib number.
The finish area is 1.5km away from the start. Free shuttle buses are available to get to the starting line from 8:00 27 June 2021 (Sunday).
