The Bangkok Marathon is an annual long-distance running event held in Bangkok, Thailand. The official name of the event is Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok presented by Toyota. About 30.000 athletes take part in marathon race and other competitions (3.694 runners completed marathon and 7.652 finished half marathon in 2020).

The Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok presented by Toyota is one of the World Athletics Bronze Label Road Races.

The course of the Bangkok Marathon (Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok presented by Toyota) 2021 tracks westward through the streets, tunnels and highways of the Thai capital, it crosses twice the Chao Phraya River (แม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา) over the Rama VIII Bridge (สะพานพระราม).

Highlights of the course:

  • Victory Monument (อนุสาวรีย์ชัยสมรภูมิ, Anusawari Chai Samoraphum), erected in 1941 to commemorate the Thai victory in the Franco-Thai War;
  • Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall (พระที่นั่งอนันตสมาคม);
  • bronze equestrian statue of King Chulalongkorn the Great (Rama V) at the center of the Royal Plaza (ลานพระราชวังดุสิต).

Start for the Bangkok Marathon (Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok presented by Toyota) and Half Marathon 2021 is on Rajamangala Stadium (ราชมังคลากีฬาสถาน), the national stadium of Thailand, located in Hua Mak Subdistrict, Bang Kapi, Bangkok.

Finish for all the races of the Bangkok Marathon (Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok presented by Toyota) 2021 is next to Democracy Monument (Anusawari Prachathipatai, อนุสาวรีย์ประชาธิปไตย,), at the intersection of Ratchadamnoen Avenue (ถนนราชดำเนิน) and Dinso Road.

The Bangkok Marathon (Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok presented by Toyota) and Half Marathon 2021 participants are divided into starting blocks according to the expected finish time indicated in the registration form. The starting block is marked on the bib number.

The time limit for completing the distance counts from the time the last participant passes the start line. It is 7 hours for the marathon and 4 hours for the half marathon.

Water and nutrition stations are located approximately every 1.2mi/2km of the route. The stations provide runners with drinking water, isotonic drink, fruit, ice-cream, pastry, refreshing sponges. Finishers may enjoy Thai cuisine treats.

Before the start 14 March 2021 (Sunday), runners may leave their personal belongings in the deposit area near the start. The stuff must be packed in the transparent deposit bag, you should attach to your bag a tag that has your race number on it. The tag and the bag are included in your Race Pack along with your bib number.

Free shuttle service from Makkasan Station (สถานีมักกะสัน), Bangkok Airport Link to Rajamangala Stadium (ราชมังคลากีฬาสถาน) is available from 17:00 13 March 2021 (Saturday) till 1:00 14 March 2021 (Sunday).

Registration

You may sign up for races of the Bangkok Marathon (Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok presented by Toyota) 2021 online.

The online registration is open till 28 February 2021 or till the slots last. If slots are available you may sign up for the races after 28 February 2021.

The entry fee for the Bangkok Marathon (Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok presented by Toyota) 2021 varies depending on the date of purchase:
3—5 December 2020 — €28 (THB 1.000),
6—20 December 2020 — €33 (THB 1.200),
from 21 December 2020 — €41 (THB 1.500).

Service fee of €2 (THB 60) is charged additionally.

The entry fee for the Bangkok Half Marathon 2021 varies depending on the date of purchase:
3—5 December 2020 — €25 (THB 900),
6—20 December 2020 — €28 (THB 1.000),
from 21 December 2020 — €36 (THB 1.300).

Service fee of €1.5 (THB 50) is charged additionally.

Till 31 December 2021 for a fee of €3 (THB 100) you may switch the distance from a longer to a shorter one (with no refund) or from a shorter to a longer one (with surcharge). More info is here.

11—12 March 2021 (Thursday — Friday) from 11:00 till 20:00,
13 March 2021 (Saturday) from 11:00 till 19:00.

You may authorize another person to collect your Race Pack. The collecting person needs to present your signed authorization, your confirmation slip, a copy of your ID with photo, his ID with photo.

No health certificate is required to enter any race of the Bangkok Marathon (Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok presented by Toyota) 2021.
